TFL Tabletops are the perfect choice for your home office

What are TFL Tabletops?

When it comes to choosing the right furniture for the office, most employers pick TFL tabletops. TFL or Thermally Fused Laminate is manufactured by combining the resin-based paper to the wood composite core. Exposed to high pressure and heat, TFL is one of the most powerful and durable materials for furniture.

They are available at a reasonable price, but its production is a time-consuming process. Thermal Fused Laminate tabletops are available in an extensive range of color and design. Not only is this laminate material used for manufacturing office furniture, but it is quite common in custom closets and some cozy furniture pieces too. Being a durable, economical, and attractive material, TFL is the primary choice of most homeowners.

The Process of Creating Thermally Fused Laminate

As described above, the combo of wood composite core and resin-saturated décor paper is treated under extreme temperature and pressure to create Thermally Fused Laminate. The resin forms a strong and durable connection with the substrate, making it nearly impossible to peel off or delaminate. Unlike solid woods, TFL is not vulnerable to stains and scratches. The durability and strength of TFL make it an ideal material for home and office furniture. It is also used in commercial settings, such as restaurants, hospitals, and retail stores.

Nowadays, people have started to choose laminated tabletops instead of hardwood furniture and flooring. That’s because TFL is a cost-efficient and durable material. It has the potential to last for the years to come. In terms of appearance, TFL laminate tabletops look as good as veneer and solid wood. In fact, some thermally fused laminate pieces look better than wooden furniture. Basically, it is used as a cheap and durable alternative to traditional furniture materials.

Difference between Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) and High-Pressure Laminate (HPL)

The fact that the strong bond between the resin and substrate never delaminates make TFL a popular material in residential and commercial applications. Earlier, the material was available in only limited color options. Today, you will find TFL tabletops in multiple patterns and color palettes. Now, it’s important to note that TFL must not be confused with the HPL tabletops. They might look identical, but both materials are different. The process of manufacturing TFL and HPL tabletops is a bit similar with a few differences.

HPL or High-pressure Laminate fuses the sheet with several layers of Kraft paper. The manufacturer, then, glues these Kraft papers to the particle board. HPL furniture pieces are especially found in commercial settings. As HPL involves more materials for manufacturing, it comes at a higher price tag than TFL. So, if you are looking for an affordable and comfortable office desk for your home office, then thermally fused laminate furniture will make a great option. It mimics the quality and appearance of the wood but is available at a reasonable price. TFL tabletops and desks are highly recommended for budget customers who spend several hours at work.
